Many areas can be treated including the face, neck, décolletage and hands. In the face, the main area targeted is the cheeks and there are five injections points on each side of the face. Most people describe the injections as ‘a little sting’ but they aren’t really painful and the discomfort eases within a few seconds. Two treatments are needed, one month apart, and from thereon one treatment every three months is ideal.
Results can be seen within a few days from the hydration effect but the collagen takes a little longer to build, so best results are seen four weeks after the second treatment.
Aftercare
After treatment, I advise my patients not to do anything that will make them hot or flushed (red in the face) otherwise there is a risk of the Botox spreading to a muscle we are not intending to treat. Examples of this would be exercise, saunas, sunbeds (don’t use sunbeds ever anyway!), lots of alcohol or facials. After 24 hours you can do any of the above as the Botox won’t move after this.
